Need advice on Milano 2in1 foundation

I recently bought he Milano 2in1 foundation. I read so many reviews and there was so much hype around it, I was so excited until I put it on. I can't get it to sit nicely on my skin. I've tried applying it with a foundation brush, a beauty blender and an artis type brush (toothbrush style) but I find it sits patchy and on top of my skin. I do exfoliate and prime etc etc. any tips would be appreciated :) thank you!
