Need help for boyfriend

Ok, I really hope this is the right place to post this. My boyfriend (19) was sent to Carlbrook after attempting suicide and running away from home. He was attending when they closed down and was moved to a different therapeutic boarding school. He is now in college and doing relatively well coping with his mental illnesses. I (18) have also attempted suicide and had similar problems but was never sent away by my parents. He has been struggling to trust me and the people at his school who want to help him because of what he experienced at Carlbrook. I have no experience with this and find it difficult to support him and know what he needs when he thinks about his time there.

I'm posting mainly because I want to know how to help him. Thank you for any advice you can give me :)
