To bike riders (one in specific)

You followed me to where I was going (admitted a quarter mile), demanding to know why I ran you off the road. I knew I did, and felt awful, so we talked about it.

I respect people on bikes. What happened was that my weird cat (is there any other type) snunk in the car with me. He has never done this but I found myself in a place making a left turn when there was suddenly cat below my feet. I was giving you the right of way but suddenly didn't and that wasn't cool.

You came up on me confrontational wanting to know why I cut you off. So I told you, pointing the cowering cat out. We talked about how hard it is to ride a bike in this town and I wasn't faking giving you the right of way, I just wasn't willing to smash my cat.

You are a black woman about my age. It had nothing to do with that. But you stood up for yourself. You confronted me. We both thought it would go bad, and it ended with us hugging because we both thought it would go a completely different way.

Thank you lady on the bike. I was never afraid of you, thank you for not being afraid of me.
