Issue with Renown and buying new operators

I recently purchased $10 worth of renown for Rainbow Six Siege in efforts to buy the new operator in the new Velvet Shell release. I have proof of purchase from paypal and Ubisoft conforming that I had purchased the renown. After restarting the game, the renown showed up in my in-game inventory, so i preceded on using the renown to buy the new operators. Upon clicking the "purchase operator" button, I received an message saying "Unable to purchase Operator at this time". Thinking that this was a glitch, I reset my game and came back to find that all of my renown was gone and that I did not have the new operators in my lineup. This issue has happened to a friend of mine as well. Has anyone else had this happen?
