Passenger in a roll over car accident .

I was recently a passenger in a car wreck which resulted in us rolling two times . My driver didnt have current insurance but the drive who hit us did. We hired an attorney but recently they told us that they couldn't really do anything for my friend but I still could proceed with the case . I have back and wrist pain that's mild and bothers me all day now and hard to sleep. What do I look for? What do I do?how do I make sure I'm covered? Who am I covered by? What actions can I take make sure I'm compensated for medical,pain and suffering,lose of income

There was a witness to prove that it was his fault . I'm currently seeking help from an attorney but know that they only want the prime cases and want to know how to proceed with forward with my lawyer and the other drivers insurance to insure I'm covered and compensated.
