Environmentalism

Hey r/engineering students. I'm currently a senior in high school, and I'll be studying engineering this fall. I switched from pre med to engineering because climate change and environmentalism is huge for me. However, I'm not sure which branch of engineering I should go into. I'm really interested in both renewable energy and remediation of hazardous materials like oil spills or tar sands. I applied for chemE but I'm wondering if something like civil, mechanical, electrical, or materials would be a better choice.
