Help with sound issues

so, i've got my bass plugged into my amp with a instrument cable that i got maybe a month ago and it has always worked. All of a sudden, whenever i play, no sound comes out from the amp. i have the volume up on the bass and the amp, and the wire is all the way plugged in. I last used my bass tuesday. Any help?
