Q: "Why?" A: "AAVE and SAE were developed during centuries in which being anti-black and adhering to white supremacy were/are super normalized both in obvious ways but in subtle ways. Example, there are few neutral words to describe black hair in SAE and phrases like "good hair" in AAVE. I want to create a script that African-American's can use to reprogram negative thought patterns that are passed down via language. But that's near impossible if a majority of the contributions don't come from African-American's. I guess you could be black American too but I said African-American cause that's the audience I'm focused on and if you're black American but not African-American you probably have another linguistic lineage you can tap into."
