Dear Epic,

I would like to preface this post by saying I absolutely love playing this game and will play for a long time. That being said I feel criticism and ideas from the community will ultimately help epic’s small beta game grow into a monstrous moba someday, and should be freely expressed. I have two major points I would like to make here and I hope that it can provide a little insight to both EPIC and the larger community as a whole as to what SOME of the top players (myself as the flagship of these ideas) think about the game and it’s development.

  1. Epic needs to be more involved with the community. The recent blog posts highlighting some of the ideas and goals is amazing and I very much appreciate the transparency, but something I think a lot of us would like to see is more in line with the approach League of Legends takes towards it’s community. More interaction in general across reddit and the forums helps to keep the die hard part of your community that invest themselves so heavily in the game feeling like they actually matter which, in my opinion, is a great way to help keep the community as a whole a little happier. I recognize you are all busy people working very hard on the game but taking some time to interact with the community in both fun ways (fun reply’s and comments on posts) and more serious ways (answering questions, addressing toxicity, etc.) is an essential part of helping the community feel less alienated and their continued dedication to the game more appreciated.

  2. I feel the current way balance is addressed within EPIC needs to be addressed and changed as a whole. Figuring out ways to streamline the process and cut out as many middle men as possible would help to speed up the patching process but I also understand that by doing this you need to be able to trust the people who are involved much more so than before. I feel like this is another way that EPIC can involve (in particular) the competitive community either in asking for help testing big balance changes or directly employing “pro” players such as members of Carbon EU, or Reborn (assuming of course there are members that would want to help) as part of the Comp QA team. By way of lending more credence to the opinions and skill levels of the Comp QA team I feel it not only helps EPIC release faster patches but patches that are more accurate in balancing the game overall.

Feel free to discuss and please up vote if you agree with these opinions so that hopefully EPIC can see it. Again I’d like to reiterate that I love the game and simply want to do everything in my power as a player to help elevate it as high as it possibly can go! Gl and Hf in all your games!

tl;dr

  1. Epic needs to be more involved with the community.
  2. Epic needs to streamline patch's while also making them more accurate and pertinent to the game.
