All webpages showing text as bold?

So, my boyfriend opened Google Chrome one day and I noticed that all of the fonts were bolded. We ignored it as we were going to format in a few days when we built his new computer. After formatting, the bolded text was gone and everything was normal. One day later, it randomly happened again. Google search, youtube, etc. everything text in the webpage is bold. We tried searching for similar problems and solutions, but cannot seem to find anything.

Any ideas on how to get the text back to normal?

It seems to be a problem within Google itself, as even outside of Chrome (as in Google Hangouts) everything is still bold. We tried adjusting/resetting the font settings under Chrome Settings, but that did nothing. We also uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome itself a few times.

Update: Definitely seems like a Google problem, as sites like Facebook are unaffected.
