No one is like you...and that's okay

So there's a common view that we should be finding people who are like us. INFPs are rare, in the same way INFJs, INTJs are fairly rare. '

The problem comes when INFPs try to find someone who is like them. No one is like them. You are uniquely shaped, biologically, socially, historically, culturally, etc. It's okay to feel like you're different.

INFJ's have the tendency to try to find people who are "like them". They long for a sense of belonging. And they try to fit in by putting on different personas. They absorb other's emotions, almost inadvertently.

But the opposite is for the INFP. Ultimately, they don't long for a sense of fitting in, they just want to be accepted because they are DIFFERENT, and they want to express themselves in a creative, unique, way, that helps the world. This is massively important. They want people to trust them even with their unique, weird, eccentric, wild concepts that they are deep down "good" people. Our tendency is to mirror other's emotions. This is potentially a problem when we are looking for spouses. Don't look for someone that is exactly like you (no one is), look for someone who can balance and be complementary to you.
