Mono-INT Team with the Most Synergy
After checking out Tallen's video here, it made me realize that his mono-INT team setup has the most synergy in an INT team that I've seen so far. It also has me thinking what could be the most compatible setup for an INT team. Below is what I think is the best and why. I'm not sure if it's the most "optimal" or not, but from their links, passives, and SAs, this team works extremely well.
Excuse my formatting, as I am new to this kind of stuff.
Leader of the team. Not much needs to be said about him that hasn't been said already. Heals, nukes, debuffs. He's got it all.
He's one of Buuhan's best friends. He's a great tank. He shares Metamorphosis with Buuhan--to recover some HP to add to the team's survivability--as well as Shocking Speed for +2 Ki and Big Bad Bosses for the +25% ATK&DEF when HP is 80% or below (if things get rough). His SA also greatly lowers DEF so that Buuhan and the rest of the team can deal a bit more damage.
I chose SSJ Goku instead of Fusion Android 13 because he works well with the rest of the team and not just Buuhan. This analysis is about synergy and not being the most optimal setup. Goku works well with Buuhan, Piccolo, Bardock, and Trunks.
Buuhan - Goku changes AGL orbs to INT orbs. This is a bit better than changing orbs to rainbow orbs if you want more healing from Buuhan. Thanks to the ability system, you gain more HP based on the number of orbs you take from your respective attribute. Goku also shares the Kamehameha link with Buuhan, which gives them ATK+2500 when performing a SA, so his SA deals a bit more damage.
Piccolo - Him and Goku share The First Awakened link, giving both of them ATK+25% (there had to be a reason why they gave LR Piccolo one of the rarest link skills in the game, right?). And at SA 10/20, that ATK boost becomes more noticeable.
Gonna borrow /u/MobileManASC and /u/Loligami's formula for a sec. :p
Without The First Awakened link
- 10,030 (Base ATK) x 2.4 Double Buuhan = 24,072
- 24,072 x 1.3 (12 Ki Multiplier) = 31,293
- 31,293 x 3.45 (SA 10) = 107,962
- 31,293 x 3.95 (SA 20) = 123,607
With The First Awakened link
- 10,030 (Base ATK) x 2.4 Double Buuhan = 24,072
- 24,072 x 1.25 (TFA link) = 30,090
- 30,090 x 1.3 (12 Ki Multiplier) = 39,117
- 39,117 x 3.45 (SA 10) = 134,953
- 39,117 x 3.95 (SA 20) = 154,512
26,631 difference in damage at SA 10 and 30,905 at SA 20. If you ever need Piccolo to deal a decent amount of damage, Goku's your guy.
Bardock - They share the Family Ties and Prepared for Battle ki links, giving Goku 10 Ki and Bardock 12 Ki most of the time in Dokkan boss events--his passive gives him +3 Ki when facing 1 enemy. This gives Bardock a much easier time to super when he shows up. They also share the SSJ link for additional 10% ATK.
Trunks - Goku and Trunks work really well together, as you can tell. They both share Prepared for Battle, which gives Trunks 8 Ki for that turn when linked together, the SSJ link for 10% more ATK, and Golden Warrior link for 1 extra Ki and 2000 less DEF to the opponents. But the most important part is that both of them are orb-changers. Goku changes AGL orbs to INT orbs, and Trunks turns STR orbs to INT orbs. This gives Trunks a chance to deal massive amounts of damage.
Trunks is gonna be your second hard hitter in this team. He changes STR orbs to INT and gains ATK+15% per INT orb, making him a self-sufficient nuker. His SA is farmable, and he gains a 30% additional ATK to his SA multiplier at SA 10. His SA also greatly lowers DEF alongside Janemba's and Buuhan's Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack.
Now to address the elephant in the room. He's gonna be fighting for INT orbs with Buuhan, especially when Goku is in the same turn. The solution to this depends on your current situation. Are you low on HP and desperately need to heal? Then give the INT orbs to Buuhan. Do you want to deal a ton of damage and get the round over with? Then give them to Trunks. These option could break up the rotation you could have going (which I will explain later), but if the situation calls for it, then choose what's best.
LR Piccolo - Your second defender in the team. He's not as good at being a tank as Janemba is because he can't take a super to the face, but he helps everyone take a bit more damage. And thanks to Buuhan's constant debuffing and Bardock sealing supers, Piccolo can take whatever normal attack--and maybe super attack--the enemy throws at you. He also has Shocking Speed, giving Buuhan, Janemba, and himself +2 Ki, as well as The First Awakened for an additional ATK boost with Goku.
Bardock - This is a bit of an odd choice, honestly. But Bardock does work well with this team. He helps remedy Piccolo's biggest flaw of not blocking supers well by, you know, getting rid of them for 2 turns. He gives himself 3 Ki and ATK+7000 when facing 1 enemy, which is the majority of Dokkan boss events, so he starts with 9 Ki most of the time and 12 Ki when linked with Goku or Trunks thanks to the Prepared for Battle ki link. Thanks to his rebirth, he now deals a decent enough damage with a Supreme modifier. His SA is sort of farmable with the SR SSJ Bardocks you get from the summons.
Currently, there are no Dokkan bosses that are immune to having their SAs sealed, so this makes Bardock still useful to the team. If there are, then there's still Goku's rare chance to stun (unless a boss negates both of those, in which case that's just unfair).
Possible Rotations
Option 1
Floaters: Piccolo, Trunks, Bardock
This is a more defensive rotation. For Turn A, Janemba will be in the first slot tanking damage while Buuhan debuffs every turn. You may have to put Janemba at the third slot if needed, but with Buuhan's ATK debuffing and a support item like Whis, King Yemma, or Icarus, you may not have to. Plus Bardock and Piccolo will be in the third slot sealing supers and blocking attacks, respectively. For Turn B, Goku will most likely be in the second slot because he links well with all of the floaters as well as Buuhan. In addition, Buuhan can take all of the INT orbs Goku (and Trunks) gives when he's in the first slot, so in case you get a Dokkan mode, there's no need to worry about giving it to the wrong unit.
Option 2
Floaters: Piccolo, Buuhan, Bardock
Same as the previous option, but this is a more offensive approach thanks to Trunks appearing every other turn. Turn A is the same as Option 1: Janamba tanking, Buuhan debuffing. Turn B is where Trunks gets to wreck house. Two units--both with PfB, SSJ, and GW--that change orbs to INT and one of them gaining ATK+15% per INT orb while dealing immense damage with a farmable SA that greatly lowers DEF sounds like a match made in heaven. Of course, RNG can ruin all of this (i.e. more PHY and TEQ orbs than STR and AGL) but Trunks still gets to super attack most of the time because he'll always start with 9 Ki when linked with Goku. Naturally, you would put Trunks in the first slot so that he can take all of those INT orbs and have Goku on the second slot linking with everybody, even Buuhan as a floater.
TL;DR This team works really well because they help each other out. They also link very well thanks to SSJ Goku linking with everybody (except Janemba, but you will almost never have them on the same turn together). Yes, Goku doesn't open up orb paths for Buuhan like Fusion Android 13 does, but he helps out everybody else with his inks and passive (and his SA, if that activates and you're not fighting bosses like SSJ4 Goku and SSJ4 Vegeta).
