Thoughts on One Ok Rock's new single, American Girls?

Just saw this, and I have some big reservations about this. Although it's awesome to see more Asian American men in romantic music videos, and that One Ok Rock is bringing an Asian face into pop culture media.

But the content of this song is disturbing to me, as if having an American fetish is ok. Especially with lyrics like

You got me so obsessed

I like when east meets west

It’s like I’m in a movie

or

I want to show you off

I like the way you walk

The way you talk

The way you rock

This kind of narrative feels really problematic to me...anyone else feel this way?

Another big problem I have with this song is that it's litterally nothing like Ok Rock used to be. Where is the post-hardcore? This is literally a Paramore song sung by a guy. /rant.
