Emperor's New Clothes - what instrument?

I've been trying to figure out what the main instrument in Emperor's New Clothes is. It's that metallic organ sounding thing playing staccato quarter notes all throughout the song.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's a recording of an ensemble of instruments (strings or horns maybe?) that's been chopped up and repeated - anyone else have an idea as to what it is?
