Guys who literally never trade
I'm in a 10 owner league. One guy is leaving next year, and we've always had trouble filling that tenth spot.
Right now we're debating between finding another guy to fill out our tenth spot, vs. kicking out one of the owners and just making it an 8 man league.
There's one owner who just... drives me nuts. He doesn't do anything "wrong" perse, but the way he plays just frustrates the hell out of me. He drafts a halfway decent team, and then just sticks with them all year. If one of his guys gets injured, he'll dutifully put him on the IR and draft a replacement from the WW, but that's about as much movement as you'll see out of him. If a guy who was a starter gets moved to the bench on his RL team, he'll keep that guy on his roster the whole rest of the season even if the guys is producing almost nothing.
He had DeAndre Jordan on his team this year. About a month ago, I was so far ahead in the standings that I realized I was going to get a by in the first round of the playoffs. Looking ahead at the two week matchup for round 2, I realized that the Clippers play 9 games during that span. So I wanted a Clipper. CP3 was owned by a guy who would never give him up, BG same story. So who's left but DeAndre, right? So I offered the guy Hassan Whiteside for DeAndre, figuring he'd accept it immediately thinking he got a real steal. No dice. So about a week later I offered him the same deal, and he rejected it again. So then about a week later, I offered him Drummond, who in the format I play in is even better than Whiteside, and they're both light years better than DeAndre. He rejected me again with the comment "I AM NOT TRADING DEANDRE SO STOP ASKING"
So my question is, am I being a dick to want to kick this guy out? If players have annoying emotional attachments to their players, or are just naturally inclined to hate trades of any sort... as annoying as they can be, are they really doing anything "wrong"?
Thoughts appreciated.
