Homeassistant Not Controlling Smartthings

I am having trouble troubleshooting a problem when setting up home assistant and trying to integrate it with smartthings. I've got a CentOS 7 VM and installed mosquitto for the mqtt broker. I also have the smartthings-mqtt-bridge and homeassistant.

If I turn a device on or off through the smartthings app, I see the event in the mqtt broker topic. However, if I try to toggle the device in homeassistant smartthings doesn't seem to respond at all. I can't figure out where the connectivity issue is.

Any tips on troubleshooting? I've got the smarttapp with the devices set up in it as well.

It seems communication works from smartthings, but trying to control smartthings from the HASS side I see the event go into the mqtt broker but smartthings doesn't seem to respond. I get nothing in smartthings logs either.
