Am I the only person here who would give a negative review to DQ8 for 3DS?

I'm only 4+ hours in but the game mechanics make me dizzy, I find the fights taking too long to start. The story is more cliche then a Saturday morning cartoon. Only the starting characters are sympathetic. Even the main villain is unappealing and more creepy and depressing then I'm use to with fun villains.

I'm a longtime fan of DQ1, 9, and now 7 but I'd say this is the worst one I've played. What's keeping me playing this game is King Trode and his Lovely Medea and Yangus...and the fact it's in a (usually) beloved series...

edit: The alchemy pot is fun to dabble with when you don't know what will pop out
