Just reloaded my first set of .223! Just wanted to run a few things by to make sure before I go blat (COL, powder, and trim length)
Here's my load for this batch:
-
Caliber: .223 Rem
-
Powder: H335, 25 gr ± .3 ; My Lee dipper throws exactly this which is why I started here instead of at the min of
24.723 -
Bullet: 55 gr X-Treme FMJ
-
Primer: Winchester SR
-
Brass: Assorted range brass. Everything from LC to Perfecta, to MKE and TAA
-
COL: Most rounds are 2.221. Highest was 2.226 and lowest was 2.218. Is this a problem?
-
Trim: Most of the brass was 1.740. The absolute highest was 1.762 which I did not trim, as it still chambered just fine in a dummy round. Is this OK?
I'll be shooting this out of a Ballistic Advantage 18" SPR, 1/8 twist barrel. Anybody have experience with 55gr out of a similar barrel?
All loaded on a single stage Lee press with Pacemaker dies. Medium crimp, right in between the mil-spec rounds I have and the max crimp on the die.
Thanks!
