Contract agreement intern question

Hello there, I accepted my offer with cerner, however, through the online candidate portal. I havent gotten any written agreement yet, however, I am having a background check. As to the employee agreement, is that in effect yet? Or was it only a sample that was given when I was accepting the offer? Also regarding to the competitive agreement in the contract, will it hurt your employment opportunities?
