How many designers out there have 5 of fewer jobs?

My company seems to have found that the 'sweet spot' is 5 jobs in design and 5 jobs in CA. I still have more than that, and it's always true that not enough time can be dedicated to any one of them. Invariably I will miss things that I may have caught in review, etc. Seems there's no way but overtime. Same for everyone?

I just wonder if there are any companies out there where people can take the time they need, and even at one point or another be on top of everything and just start reading code or something until an item comes in from a client. Is that a thing? Anywhere?

Our company tends to dominate the market by offering the lowest fees. The only way it works is by loading on the projects with incredibly narrow profit margins. Our return clients must find it worth it that we're late on deadlines and frequently miss things.

I like this field of work but there is no satisfaction in it when full time hours is not enough to get things done right. Is everyone always behind on 5 other things at any given moment?
