Struggling at University. Need a high grade otherwise my overall grade is awful. On route to fail. Advice please!
Hello TRP,
I find myself in a difficult situation and having lurked TRP for a while now I am pretty confident that I can get some good advice from you.
I currently in my final year at university with 2 big projects left to complete. I am not in a good position at all for these and only have 7 weeks left to complete them to a high standard to get an overall decent degree grade. My discipline and work ethic is not good and is one of the reasons I am in this position and I have low confidence that I will get a good mark and a decent outcome to my degree (my other grades were very low). I really need to get this positive outcome as I have the potential to work for a really big company after I graduate (I interned here, I really impressed and they want me to get in touch when I graduate) but if I do not get the required degree grade I am going to have a hard time getting the job.
I feel like there is a lot to overcome mentally. My sleep pattern is really fucked up. It is currently 3:15 AM here and I have just slept for the last 4 hours. I also sleep during the day multiple times for multiple hours. Last week I spent the week addicted to browsing online dating (Tinder etc.) and it turned out a complete waste of time but I was able to ignore everything else and think it was okay to do that. I still find myself doing this, maybe as it a distraction method from my difficult situation and I spend a lot of time watching YouTube. At this rate I am on the path to failure but I don't really find motivation.
I would like to set a good routine, exercise in the morning and then spend the rest of the day working hard. I do have some advantages going on in the fact that currently have no friends (I retook the year and the others graduated) and so I have no commitments other than my uni work i.e. I could go monk mode and focus on just my uni work but that might become challenging as I like socialising.
Do you have any advice how I can perform the best in this situation?
Thanks
