Field Of Glory (Shatter) New to PVP

hey! i have been playing FFXIV for a year now and I am just getting into PVP. I did a few roulettes and such. Every time I go in people wipe the floor with me, I am just a wee bard. What should my main focus be in Shatter? How do I git good?
