Help with cylindrical shell problem?
The question says: Find the volume of the solid obtained by rotating the region bounded by the given curve about the specified axis.
The function given is:
x^2 +(y-6)^2 =16
rotated around the x-axis.
I've already attempted this problem a couple times, but I can't figure out how to do it besides the way I initially tried (which was wrong). I solved to get the function in terms of y and then integrated from 2 to 10 with the function being 2piy(square root -y^2 + 12y-20)dy. I got 947.44.
