Possible story line to redeem Jo...?

I think something like a husband coming and kidnapping Jo could possibly be a really good story line for Jo and could redeem her character. With the right writing and taking a good few episodes of it being the main focus... maybe it could some how link to something bigger and a bit of a cast thinning, that could bring Jo closer into the cast? I'm just spitballing here...What do you guys think, any other ideas?
