7 plus waterproof case that won't cover the camera? (x-post from /r/iPhone)

Are these mutually exclusive?

Sometime in the near future I'm making the jump from the 5S to the 7+. Ever since I've owned an iPhone I've had a life proof case on it.

First I had the FRĒ, and I hated using the touch screen with it because I always had to apply extra pressure (this is already sounding super high-maintenance), and then I switched to the NÜÜD, which is what I have now. One small but manageable problem that I've had with both is the proximity sensor getting covered with dust and not blacking out the phone during calls. The same thing happens with the front facing (selfie) camera. It'll collect dust and I'll have to clean it out with a q-tip or something. Again, it's manageable. Annoying, but manageable. What's also annoying but less manageable (and the point of all this) is the camera collecting dust. It collects on the outside of the cover, and if I take the case apart some gets on the inside. What I would really like is a case similar to my current one that doesn't cover the camera. As I said before, I don't know if that's possible because I don't know exactly what entry points there are for water on the 7+. I also sometimes experience a glare and/or reflection from the cover.

The reason I'm asking of course is because I like to take pictures. A lot of my summer is spent outside hiking or boating, and obviously these activities provide many opportunities for photos. My job also does the same thing, so it's not like I'm just using the camera for Snapchat or anything like that (I am, but not exclusively). Also, as I'm sure you can tell, those summer activities (and more) involve quite a bit of exposure to water. So the final question: is there a case that will fit these needs? If I can think of any other needy bullshit I'll make an edit.

I didn't have any luck over in r/iphone unfortunately, just a couple of people saying "but it's already waterproof!" and many more saying "no it isn't!" so I wanted to try my luck over here. Thanks in advance for your help!
