Just received Vol. 1

I just received volume one of The Familiar, as stated in the title, so I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to read it if it's similar to House of Leaves at all (I'm reading this just after House of Leaves, which is by the same author, and was quite confusing and had bizzare page layout.)

PS I'm new to this sub and to posting on Reddit in general, so just tell me if this is a crappy thing to post.

EDIT: And also hello! This is my first post on this sub, so I just though I should say hi. I have started reading the book and gotten about 60 pages in, and so far it looks like the trippy page layout I have come to know and love after reading House of Leaves. So yeah, I hope to talk about the book with you all soon!
