How does everybody feel about Ark these days?

Anyone who looks through my history will see I wasn't a fan of the game releasing packed with the dlc here in the US.

Never the less I've come around and some trailers and let's plays later and I've kind of come around on the game. Currently the price has dropped a bit and I may be interested. How is the game? It's it decent for solo and multiplayer play? Does it function as intended?
