My Kids are Not Giving Me Gifts?

I don't mean that like it sounds... lemme explain I have two girls, Lucia and Sophie, and both have, at some point, come up to me and told me that they got me a present. I always get excited, and so I watched the top left of the screen to see what I got and... nothing? I checked my inventory. Nothing. Both of them did this to me? Nobody else seems to have this problem... Are they just tricking me as a joke?? It's not funny, Lucia, I let you keep the fox!! It's XBox 360, and Hearthfire is the only add on I have. I built the house Heljarchen Hall (or however you spell it lol), married, and level 43. Thanks!!
