Feeling militantly anti-alcohol?
Hi everyone,
It's 02:30am here in the UK, I've just got back from a night out with my mates. I didn't drink. I had a great night, danced carelessly to a George Michael themed 80s evening - it doesn't get better than that.
I can't help but feel militantly anti-alcohol. In the sense that, I can't help but feel pissed off at those that drink. I wondered if I'm the only one who gets like this?
I had a great night, as I said, I didn't feel the need to drink whatsoever. I feel I owe this to myself, SD and also Annie Grace whose book is in the process of releasing me of all desires to drink.
I'm not great at controlling my feelings so I don't ever know if my feelings are justified. But, inside I felt so angry that my friends were drinking - not out of any disrespect for me but - for them, I hate alcohol so much and think it's shit for everyone - not just alcoholic. In this sense, I follow what Grace says which is essentially we're not the problem, the alcohol is - and everyone is on their path towards alcoholism, as the term is so poorly defined in our society.
I felt that I had to vent. I know it's not my business who does or doesn't drink but, being surrounded by alcohol for that period of time, the best way for me to reject it is to loath it - and by proxy - I'm starting to loath those who drink.
