Which Rat is Raddest?

About to buy my first Rat. Never thought I would be into them for some reason but after trying like 12 OD/Distortion pedals the other day the Rat was the only one that was nasty enough. This was a standard new Rat 2 at GC. I loved this pedal but have been reading about the Keeley modded Rat and its only like $20 more used. I like to have options so my hunch is to get the Keeley mod, however I've read from some users that the mod takes away some of what people love about The Rat. So basically I'm overwhelmed there are lots of Rats that people love including the Turbo Rat and I don't really know where to start as I only have access to sample a Rat 2 before buying. Any insight that would be helpful before I make my purchase?
