Advice?
Firstly, I would like to say that I am overwhelmed with the responses received on my first post on this community on Monday. It really has shown that I do have a great bunch of people willing to support me through my battle with my addiction. Thank you all.
Now I would like to get to my immediate question. I've heard and read about a lot of methods to try to resist the urge to relapse, and out of all the recommended methods, the method which seems the most effective to many is to get distracted. Getting distracted does help me most of the time - if it's during the day I'll often have lots of stuff to do to keep me busy.
However, it's usually during the night or after school when I'm most vulnerable. At these times, I'm often too tired to do anything else. If my mind slips to any sexual thought whatsoever, there's little I can do to resist. I don't have the energy to do anything which will distract me, and suddenly my mind is focused on masturbation.
So my question - what do I do during these times? What's the best way for me to resist, even when there's basically nothing I can do physically?
Thanks again!
