[FR-1400€] I found laptops, but don't know which one I should buy for gaming
-
Total budget and country of purchase:
1400€, France. -
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications to your requirements for the money? Pick or include any that apply.
Cooling system seems like a priority (don't want it to overheat after a couple hours), battery life is good but optional (will mostly use it as desktop, but I need transportability) -
How important is weight to you?
Under 6kg is fine I'd say. -
Which OS do you require? Windows, Linux, Mac.
Windows 7 or 10. Planning to install a Linux VM. Correct me if I'm wrong, but freeDOS means no OS is installed right? Is this usually worth it? -
Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. Here's the thing. I've been used to 17" for a few years, I don't know if 15" is good enough. If it is, then both are fine (I've heard you get better perfs on 15")
-
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. If you have no requirements, put N/A.
Mostly gaming, eventually streaming/video editing. But mostly gaming and programming. -
If you're gaming (leave blank if you put N/A above...), do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
The Witcher 3, WoW, Overwatch, The Witness - all in medium+/high settings @30fps -
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable business grade build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Backlit keyboard (optional, but that'd be cool)

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I have had suggestions before, and I've been recommended to look at ASUS and MSI laptops. I did, but there are so many of them even though I narrowed the search. I don't know much about specs, so comparing how good is the tradeoff between X and Y is quite hard, and most laptops look really similar to me.
I will most likely buy from the site my friend recommended, so here is what my search returned. The site is in French, but that shouldn't be a problem for laptop/component references and names. I'm planning to use the laptop for a few years, so the price within my budget (i.e. any on the list) should not matter much in the decision.
Here's the ones from the list that caught my eye the most (tech descriptions are below or by clicking on the "Fiche Technique" button on the right):
- ASUS G553VD-FY384T
- ASUS STRIX GL753VE-GC002T
- MSI GE62 6QD-452FR Apache Pro Heroes of the Storm
- MSI GE62 6QF-085FR Apache Pro 4K Heroes of the Storm
- MSI GS70 6QD-022FR Stealth
- MSI PE70 7RD-277FR
I did not include the freeDOS ones (though some seemed to have interesting specs), because 6 is already a few.
Out of my initial budget, but I could negotiate. Is the MSI GT72S 6QE-483FR Dominator Pro G Heroes of the Storm worth its price compared to the other?
Thank you in advance.
