How reliable have online legal services become? Anyone have any first-hand experience with them?

Wills Trusts and Estates

I'm interested to see if anyone's used them personally or dealt with them professionally, specifically when it comes to estate docs.

To me it seems like online services (ex. NOLO, LegalZoom) have gained a ton of recognition over the past few years but have also had questionable reputations. It used to be that on the off-chance I saw them recommended it was for something pretty hard to fuck up, like a sweetheart will or an AMD with check-boxes. As time's gone on it looks like they've improved their reputations and capabilities; have online services progressed to the point where someone wouldn't have to worry about their documents being legally sound?

All of the above rambling comes to this: my parents live in VA and need a will. They also need POAs, AMDs, and who knows what else - but they need a will first. We're friendly with some estate attys in their area but getting them to schedule anything is like pulling teeth; there's always a reason to wait or a last-minute scheduling conflict. I know any decent estate attorney is going to provide a better and more comprehensive service overall, but for the purpose of getting something - anything - down on paper: can the online docs be trusted?

Thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate it!
