Novice Question: When a recipe calls for "a dash of absinthe", can I just use Pernod instead?

I have a bottle of Pernod already but I keep coming across these recipes that call for a dash of absinthe or an absinthe rinse. I know they're made differently but both have an anise base flavor. When the amount used is so low I can't imagine alcohol proof plays into its use in the recipe, so is there any real reason not to use Pernod in place of absinthe in these situations?
