what just happened to my bottom?

77 Strat, weighs as much as a Hyundai 94 G&L Legacy, light same pickups except rear

The Strat is my #1. One gig I broke a string and picked up the Legacy. The bottom end had almost completely dropped out and I got a little more air on top. It was bizarre (and reproducible).

Any thoughts?
