Past experiences with digital codes?

So since Breath of the Wild is now available for digital download, I'm thinking of just getting the code through Amazon rather than wait for shipping. Will Amazon send the code out on midnight of March 3rd, or will it show up in my email at some random point during the day? Was just curious about other people's past experiences.

Thanks in advance!
