Valmod class help

Hey guys. I'm new to Valmod - I started off earlier using the Survivor class. I've located my local trader and established a small base inside of a cabin - however, I can't quite figure out how to get to the point of building my own stuff (such as armor for example) as there is no "craft" button even though I have what is needed as well as the recipes unlocked.
