[Event] The return of Suu Kyi to the public eye.

-event-

Four years had passed since the Writ of Habeas Corpus was suspended by President Htin Kyaw—months before its fifth year anniversary, State Councilor Aung San Suu Kyi had returned to the public eye. The State Councilor was greatly loved by her people, and her resurface definitely brought hope back into the country that for a moment, they forgot they were in a recession. It seemed almost like a metaphor when Suu Kyi disappeared along the suspension of Habeas Corpus, that freedom was gone in the country, and the moment she was back—that meant freedom was restored.

And restored, it was. After a week of her return to the public, her very first press conference was to announce the revival of Habeas Corpus.

The second one after that, of course, was an explanation—four years was not a short time-- she apologized to the public for her long absence, but reassured everyone she was still doing her duties then, just behind closed doors. All of this, she said with glint of mischief in her eyes.
