I am a 16 year old male attracted to this girl who is my friend but I don't know how to say it. If anyone on here has a clue it would be much appreciated

I met her this year in school and she is one of the greatest people I've met. We share a sense of humor, we talk a lot, we have fun together. I'd like to ask her out but I don't really know what to say...

How do I ask her out? I am a very shy person and I have never really done this before... How is what I need to know.
