PORTLAND: Lost water pressure tonight? Here's an update from the Mayor. Boil order probably coming for the morning.

As many in Portland know, we have had a major water break on Preble Street that greatly reduced the water pressure on Munjoy Hill. PWD is on the site and has reduced the pressure all over the peninsula to find the problem (no water in my apartment either). I just spoke to the City Manager and he said it will probably take all night to get this fixed. But most importantly, if you have lost pressure tonight, they are about to issue a "boil only" order for water usage in the morning. That means boil the water that comes out of your tap to stay safe until further notice. More details to come.

Portland Water District Issues Boil Water Order for Portion of Munjoy Hill

Due to a water main break on Preble Street in Portland, the Portland Water District has issued a Boil Water Order for a portion of Munjoy Hill: Northeast of Sheridan Street. Please see the map on second page for area impacted.

The boil order is in effect as of 10:30 p.m., February 16, 2017.
