Whelp I finished.... Give me a moment!
(Please forgive the overly dramatic monologue below)
Brothers and Sisters! It is done! I have finished the series. The series that I discovered as a late teenager accompanied me for six years into my young adulthood. Six years of off and on reading. It was a journey, but a journey I enjoyed fully! I know that part of me delayed the completion of the series out of fear. Yes, brothers and sisters, I was scared. I was afraid of what would happen if I finished this series. Book by book. Chapter by chapter. All those friends I made in this world would be gone. How could I allow that? So this series attached its chains to me, but now that I am free of those chains I realize just how painful the burden of freedom is. Now where do I go? All those memories... all those friends. Now I can no longer play cards with the Bridgeburners. I can no longer sneak through the shadows with Kalam. I can no longer laugh at Tehol's humor. I can no longer cower in fear and awe at Karsa Orlong. I can no longer be mystified by the ancient land of Seven Cities. I can no longer weep when my companions Gruntle, Mappo, Stormy and Gesler make the final journey to Hood's realm. I started again with GoT, but seeing all those dear friends of mine that accompanied me into adulthood tore at my chest and brought tears to my eyes. How could I go through all this again? The emotions are just too raw. What shall I do?
Ok. I'm done now.... I think.
Seriously though.. what should I do? Reread of the series? I am sure there was a ton I missed, especially now that I am a much more skilled reader. Should I move to Esselmont's novels, or perhaps the newest trilogy that Alchemist Erikson is concocting?
