Junk pickup not picking up tires?

The mailer for junk pickup says no auto parts (except up to four tires). Despite this they didn't pick up my tire this week when they piked up other stuff. This is the second time I have had this happen. Can anyone confirm/refute/elaborate? I'm in the Highlands FWIW.
