Stuck in Loading Screen?

Just got the game about an hour ago. I skipped the opening cutscene, chose my faction, and created my emblem. I have been stuck in the loading screen immediately after for almost an hour now. How can I fix this and is it happening to anyone else? I'm extremely irritated that the game won't load after spending $60 on it.
