I hate being male
This problem has steadily gotten worse for me as I've gotten older (I'm 23 now). During puberty I hated my facial hair and deep voice, but was always able to deal with it because I just distracted myself with other things. But now I'm constantly depressed about it. I hate the way my body looks, and wish I could have a feminine face, voice, wast-to-hip ratio, breasts, etc. I shave obsessively and the sight of any hair on my face makes me depressed. But it's never enough, there's always stubble, which makes me feel like an ogre. Just the other day a woman came up and started talking to me, and she seemed to be attracted to me. But all I could think about was how gross it felt that she was attracted to my masculine features. Every time I'm called "sir" or "dude" it's extremely jarring, as if for a while I was able to forget what I am, and then was suddenly brought back to reality.
I'm aware that transgenderism exists and that people transition to the other gender, but I'm not completely convinced that it's a real thing. People say that it's a mental illness and that taking hormones is just enabling delusions instead of fixing the root problem, and to be honest that sounds like it might be correct. I feel so silly for caring about gender this much, since it seems like most men don't.
I don't know how much longer I can keep going like this.
