Medical/Nursing professionals in Texas with criminal history what was the background check process like?
Basically I have been attending a local community college for the past 2 years in hopes to try and get into the ADN program (program that prepares you for the NCLEX) to become a registered nurse in the state of Texas in which i live. Anyways long story short i've got enough classes 50 hour credits to either go into dental hygiene PTA or nursing I'm considering any of the above. The only catch is I got a DWI & charge with Controlled substance because of an old SAMPLE pill my dad was given at the doctors office about 5 years prior to my arrest that was found in one of those junk compartments in the truck. Im currently having to deal with that i will most likely do the Pre trial diversion program which after a year of probation it should be dismissed. BUT what I'm thinking is that all these programs require some type of background check and still doesn't guarantee me admission to the programs. So if anyone has been in a similar situation what was the process like? Thanks in advance for any tips.
