Getting (generic) emails/large information packets from Columbia Admissions, is this an indication of anything?

Hey, basically I've received emails and one big information packet from Columbia Admissions, however I have no idea why, and am pretty curious. I get tons of emails/spam from a bunch of different decent/less than decent schools, the only notable ones being Northwestern, Brown, and Columbia, and I really have no idea why I'm getting them from Columbia(not that I wouldn't want too at all). I'd say I'm above average, good but nothing special, and I'm pretty sure I haven't signed up to receive anything. Could this be a sign that I'm "on the radar"? or are these sent liberally to most half decent students? I'm 90% sure I'm nothing special other than my e.c.'s which are pretty good, but none of my peers with much better academics have received anything like it. I have searched for Columbia a lot in college board (for like AP credit and other information), and did put Columbia as my first school after creating a "Common App" application, although I did nothing to fill it out and haven't submitted it at all, if any of this could trigger anything. The only other thing that I can think of is that I'm a legacy(father graduated from Columbia Engineering), but I don't think that would prompt anything, and I also have a whole year before even starting to apply. It's literally been driving me nuts to find out, so any help/insight would be very very appreciated. Could I be meeting some benchmark? Or is it likely that I just signed up for something and forgot?
