I live in a 2-level house. My room, with my gaming PC and consoles on which I play fighting games, is upstairs above the garage. However, the modem and wifi router of the house is downstairs.

As such, a direct ethernet connection is not really a possibility and is non-negotiable.

My consoles connect to the router's 2.4 GHz band and my PC connects to the faster 5 GHz band. Our ISP is Comcast Xfinity cable internet and I do have an unused cable jack in my room.

I would like to improve my netplay experience. What options do I have for attaining connection strength better than what I currently get with 2.4 GHz band wifi?
