So just seen some negative reviews of PSVR and damn! Is it really that bad?
I own a Vive but was just looking up what people been saying about the PSVR and there are good reviews, which is encouraging but what I'm not liking is the bad reviews and how it might impact VR in general.
There are more PSVRs out there than Vives and Rifts I think so many people who are trying out VR, specially the mainstream crowd and gamers are likely to try it ahead of a Rift or Vive. Just worrying because of a few reasons. The PSVR seems as though the hardware powering it, is not up to it and so people's first impression is a jerky, laggy mess due to the slow hardware. Then there is the screen resolution which can't be bettered right now but when you have users moaning about how it looks like playing an old 16 bit console game close to your face, it doesn't help sell VR to the masses.
Is the PSVR doing more harm than good for VR? Enough to damage the tech in general and set it back a number of years? Hope not but sadly PC VR just isn't reaching enough people at the moment and it's a shame because I feel some of what people are complaining about, is being resolved on the PC and having proper motion controls and room scale brings a whole lot more in the case of the Vive but Sony is a household name and if PSVR flops then that is surely going to have an impact on VR,. But how big of an impact?
