The shortest of Relationships Can Muck You Up the Most

Many people, who have strived to offer good counsel, kind words, and honest advice, are always flummoxed that I've been unable to heal from a 6 month relationship gone awry. I know that there are all sorts of timelines, formulas, and what not, meant to help us understand what is reasonable in terms of recovery. I (24F) dated someone for 6 months. The breakup was approx 10 months ago. I suspect healing will take at minimum another 6 months. And even then...I really don't know. I've been in healthy, functional relationships before. This last one really tanked my trust in myself.

I don't know what I was seeking in posting. I suppose solidarity with and to all those, who have been damaged and hurt by the relationships that started strong and burned out ferociously fast.

It is hard to write about this episode, this stretch of time, but I wanted to thank you all for sharing your narratives, your struggles, your unique perspectives.
