On the fence, even harder now

Discussion

I've owned an original 3DS XL, and I've loved certain games on it along with the homebrew scene that brought emulation to the palms of my hands. I purchased another one recently online as I travel a lot, country to country, and you can only step into the time machine called sleep so much, so I needed some entertainment aside from the apps on my phone and the books held within. Well I ordered it online while it was "in stock" and never received a tracking number (thanks GameStop). So I called to see what the status was and they threw my order on backorder... ugh. So I cancelled my order and saw a video of the leaked Switch startup setup. Literally the only thing keeping me from going for the Switch in a couple weeks is if there's going to be a good new Animal Crossing iteration available at some point. I don't know what it is about Animal Crossing New Leaf, but my god that game can hold me over forever. I know a Nintendo official has stated that the Switch is not a 3DS replacement, and because of that I'm not sure if they even intend to have an Animal Crossing on the console if they plan to keep it a handheld only game. Anyone else experiencing the on the fence feeling about purchasing the Switch or a 3DS now?
